Biographical: birth, death, and marriage certificates, educational documents, educational and service IDs, professional and social activity-related certificates and references, diaries, autobiographies, etc.; documents on repressions, including copies from investigation files: arrest certificates, resolutions, warrants, search reports, arrest forms, interrogation reports, sentences, intra- and interdepartmental correspondence, petitions after arrest, certificates of execution of sentences, documents on placement in camps and exile, certificates of release, inquiries of relatives about the fate of arrested persons, answers to them, etc.; ca. 1500 units of correspondence with prisoners and deportees; materials on rehabilitation (applications, correspondence with official bodies, decisions of rehabilitation bodies, certificates of rehabilitation). The series files contain more than 4,000 photographs, drawings and portraits (including camp portraits), stories, poems and memoirs. More than 5,700 copies of various types of Memorial questionnaires and surveys, correspondence with the Memorial, and extracts from electronic databases.

The materials of the series are represented by documents from the 1920s to 2023 (mainly 1930s – 1950s, late 1980s – 2020s). Some documents date from the second half of the 19th to the beginning of the 20th centuries.

The series contains digital copies of archival and investigative files regarding officers of the operative-chekist department of the Solovki Prison of the NKVD Main Directorate, and of the prison department of the NKVD Main Directorate; a group case charging officers of the 3rd department of the NKVD White Sea-Baltic Plant, as well as fragments of the group case of the “Fountainers” (“Estonian Trotskyist-Zinoviev terrorist organization in the city of Leningrad”) who were shot at Sandarmokh under the sentence of the special troika of the Leningrad Region Division of NKVD (Protocol of 10.10.1937).
